Hello, I'm trying to remember this series I read in middle school or junior high. It was post-apocalyptic, and set in a world where technology had become taboo. The protagonist rose to power by making use of technology for warfare; I remember he built some sort of railroad system. I also remember that he besieged a city at one point and burned all of the surrounding farmland. Thanks in advance for any help.
