Where do you guys find your reading lists?

Any particular columns or websites that you use to find interesting fiction or non-fictions?  What's your favorite?

If it's in the Oprah Book Club, I avoid it like the plague because she has terrible taste.
If my friend recommends something, I borrow it from them and if I like it I'll buy it and/or the rest of the series.
If it's recommended by a website, I do some research into it and may or may not buy it.
If I find it on the side of the road or something, I read it whether it's crap or not because it was free.
If a well-informed employee of a small bookstore recommends it, I'll usually pick it up.

It's all about the trial and error for me.
