We need more people here. I would love to have an active lit. board to counter every one out there that gathers a meagar 5 posts a day. Drop hints in other boards, blatantly advertise, tell your friends, and do whatever you can to spread the word.
ITT: A topic dedication to the advancement of /book/.

One of the, if you will forgive the expression, Devil's Advocates asks whether the advancement of /book/ necessitates increased traffic; you know, the old quality vs. quantity thing. Not that the proportion of shit to win threads would be any different, just more of the same.

Well, there must be a whole bunch of readers on /b/ that could find an existence here. They just never explore outside of the board.
I'll mention /book/ if I make or see a book related thread on /b/.

Most anyone who would even dare venture to the text boards, /book/ of all, would probably not want to troll. /book/ is actually one of the only fairly troll-free text boards, as there isn't much to troll with.

No, how about not. If you see a topic involving a book outside of be, try to usher the discussion here. We are a civilized people, thank you :).

I think it would help if this was also a image board. 420chan has a literature and books board that has much more traffic.
However, I wouldn't worry too much about shit dragging from /b/tards. I mean, I came from /b/. I keep comming to this board because I like books and I like stories. Isn't it safe to assume that anybody else willing to explore /book/ beyond a cursory glance feels the same way?
Good point. Why would anybody waste their time trolling a text board that is mostly dead anyway?

True, somewhat. /b/tards are typically of lower quality; I'd propose more of an /r9k/ posting instead. Then again, if there is a book topic in /b/ with people who seem interested in books, I say why not.
