What are the best Star Wars books? Okay specifically, are there an Star Wars books that aren't all goody-too-shoes? I mean are their any really gritty, GRIM DARK, or even horror Star Wars books? Especially, a horror-based Star Wars book. Everything I've ever read or saw that had to do with Star Wars was all rated for a 12 year old to read. Everything seems so mundane and nothing is "graphic" in any category. Oh, I'm sure there's some horror-furry-yaoi-guro-hentai-force-fucking-fan fiction out there, but that's completely beside the point right?

They're written for 12-year olds because older people are not so much into franchise fiction.

Pretty much all fantasy/scifi sucks, especially Star Wars, but Timothy Zahn's novels are probably the best. Try Shadows of the Empire. Thought I don't know why you'd read this shit if you're not underage.

Yeah, you probably won't find anything like that. Although I stopped reading them when Han had kids. That's just not right.
Anyway, I think the Heir to the Empire series is the best. Timothy Zahn is awesome.

I loved the Rogue Squadron books. They didn't seem that childish. Especially how there was a human bothan couple having to deal with discrimination in some of them.
I was about to say I was surprised no one here's heard of Death Troopers, but then i noticed it came out 5 months after this thread died.
Some excerpts: [The zombie's] mouth was buried in Pauling's throat and it was busily slurping its blood, ripping off huge gobbets of his flesh... Strands of Pauling's flesh were dangling from its teeth.
The leg was connected to a torso, covered up by another, and another, the pile growing in front of him comprising what he realized was hundreds of dismembered corpses--heads, arms, legs, and whole bodies, bare bones, many of them still dressed in rotten Imperial uniforms... hacked recklessly to pieces, still others partially devoured, whole gobbets of of flesh gnawed off. Many of the parts were bloated to the point where the skin itself had begun to split open like sausages...
