How old are you? I'm not being sarcastic. Knowing your age could help us choose good books for you to read. It's perfectly okay to be relatively old, and new to reading, at the same time.

What are your interests? Regardless of age, we can't tell you the good "introduction" book for beginners. You're the one that has to find a subject you're interested in, or a story that keeps your attention.

Whatever book you choose, make sure that you like it enough to keep reading. DO NOT force yourself to read something all the way to the end if you do not genuinely want to. This is supposed to feel good; it isn't supposed to frustrate you. If you are not interested enough in a particular book that you become unengaged with what the author is trying to express: toss it-- just stop reading it. It's the author's job to appeal to you, so it isn't your fault. The single most important factor for beginning readers is to become comfortable reading, but that'll never happen if you feel impatient to get to next page, or start zoning out while you are reading; reading but not understanding.
Don't become discouraged if you don't finish a book. Always keep in mind that somewhere out there, there is a book you would like to read cover to cover. A book that, when you are done reading it, you will wish it was longer.  All you have to do is find it.
