Looking for recomendations In the fantasy genera

have not read to much so this should be easy.
I liked "the name of the wind" and "locke lamora" / "red seas red skys" so right now i am wating for "wise mans fear" and "republic of theives". i was recomended the dark elf trilogy by salvatore and thought it was MEH.

generaly seem to like things that arnt full of magic, at least magic that is not explained in some way and has some basis and isint just a duex ex machina.

ideas?

Have you read the Lord of the Rings series?  Pure Genius, and, in fact, the progenitor of everything that's called fantasy.   Once you've read it you'll see how awful everything else is and be able to move up to Science Fiction.
