Now I just listened to The God Delusion on tape, love the guy's voice, and now whenever I try to read the Bible I just cannot believe a damn thing in it anymore. Now I am having panic attacks at night and I'm worried for my own safety that I might have committed a sin by reading this book.
I need some help, is there anyways I could forget all that I have read in this book and is there anyway I could cleanse my soul so one day I could go to Heaven and live in peace? I am even temped to listen to it again, even more temped than to go to Sunday School. What if my family found out about this? I need some help Anonymous.

There's no going back. Pray about it if you want. Study theology, talk to people, ect. You are free to figure out what you believe and how you want to live your life. There's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
There's no need to rush telling people about it. Take some time to become comfortable with whatever your beliefs are. Your family might have a hard time accepting it, but give it some time. If their love for you hinges on something like this rather than who you are, they are shitty people.

if your beliefs were honestly swayed by such a shitty book then you might as well just kill yourself because you are worthless as a person hth

Quite a subtle troll, really. Do we encourage >>1 to speak to his pastor about this, or are we forced to side with Richard? This is a conundrum not often encountered on /book/.
Principles matter only insofar as they guide your actions. Ultimately you will be judged by society and by yourself from what you have done, not by what you believe.

ITT: There be sinners in this thread. I hope you enjoy burning in Hell.
Read 'the Dawkins Delusion'. It's by atheists and they totally rip RD a new one since the God Delusion is such pathetic tripe of propaganda instead of legit arguments.

What a fail...
You don't believe the bible anymore, but you're afraid of going to hell because of it.
You think that a loving god will hate you for not believing in him.
Obviously you still believe in god. At least you're cleaning house a bit and can chuck the "earth is 6000 years old" "looking for signs of the antichrist" superstition, try to look at things as an intelligent person, and apply faith in a meaningful way. Or you can go back to being a stupid hypocrite child.
I think the core problem is not that you are struggling with your faith or that you had faith to begin with. It sounds like you're just kind of a stupid whiner who can't reason or make decisions for yourself. Must be rough.
It's simple OP. Just kill yourself and ask God if he'll allow you into heaven. If he says yes, then you're in. But if he says no, just go back and try again.

Its a necessary step towards enlightenment. You have nothing to fear. Your mind was hijacked and its recovering from a type of intellectually rape.
read more books, its so important to read more books. If you want something spiritual, read sam harris' "end of faith" and then read Denetts "Breaking the Spell"

But I'd be dead and I'd probably be in Hell for killing myself anyways. Suicide is one of the most dangerous sins to commit, God won't even give you a trail for it.
