I have to find a +300 page book written in the last ten years that is a "contemporary fiction" and figured here would be a good place to get ideas.

can anybody help me?

Both Khaled Hosseini's books fit the bill. The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns.

If you're feeling ambitious, do not miss out on 2,666. 800+ pages but flawless storytelling.

Or Cloud Atlas. The varied writing styles in Cloud Atlas alone will startle you. Don't waste your time with overdosed garbage like Khaled Hossein.

I'll second the suggestion for Hosseini. Both are incredible books.

Motherless Brooklyn.
Get the audio book version of it read by Steve Buscemi and prepare to cum in your pants several times.

Vonnegut didn't write anything good after the 70s

Don't change these.
