Above is an article that explains why e-books will rise to prominence.  I like his dismissal of the "screen hurts my eyes" argument that people give for explaining why they won't buy a Kindle.  If you can read text messages, you can read on a Kindle.

I would never pay for an ebook. I pirate them to read a bit of a book that I'm interested in, then I buy a hard copy. If I'm going to pay money for a book, I want it on paper, not a 1MB PDF that costs next to nothing to make and distribute.

ebooks are unlikely to ever take the place of real books. People like the tangible object side of owning a book, displaying it on their bookshelf etc.

Books also kick ass because I can't lie on my back and hold my monitor just above my torso comfortably.
