The Mist

After watching the movie "The Mist" and absolutely LOVING the religious references and the mindfuck ending, I'm now thinking about picking up the book.

Has anyone else read it? How is it?

As far as I can recall, the movie actually follows the story almost precisely. There are maybe two parts I can think of that don't happen in the movie.

Though, and I wouldn't really consider this as spoilers since you already know what's going to happen (or not, as the case may be), the story actually ends a bit after they find that Lovecraftian elephant creature. It's pretty much one of those endings that's left up to the reader's imagination. So, unfortunately, there isn't really as much of a delicious mindfuck at the end of the story.

Stephen King actually said that he wished he'd thought of an ending as good for the story. I, personally, can appreciate either ending, but preferred the movie overall.

after seeing dream-catcher get butchered, I'm glad.

Don't change these.
