Fantay recommendations?

I'm looking for a good high fantasy book to read on the plane and in the hotel on my vacation.  I was thinking about something from the Runelords series.  Any suggestions?  Something I can finish in a week?

You probably already read this series, but A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin.
