Does anybody here like Tim Powers? I really enjoyed On Stranger Tides, The Anubis Gates, and Strange Itineraries. I just started reading Dinner at Deviant's Palace and it's a little heavy handed in the stereotypical "post apocalyptic world references ours with funny misspellings of our things," but I'm interested in seeing where it goes.

I didn't enjoy On Stranger Tides very much because the main, whose name I can't remember, was too much the typical good guy in a bunch of misfits. Otherwise quality Powers.
Of what I've read, I'd say Anubis Gates > Declare = Last Call > Drawing of the Dark > On Stranger Tides. Strange Itineraries somewhere in there as well, it was a mixed bag.

Somehow, listening to Dvorak really helped me make it through Anubis Gates easily.

How did you get turned on to Powers? I learned about him through Ron Gilbert's website.
