Hopefully I'm not touching upon a trite subject, but: the prize for literature is going to be announced on Thursday; who do you think deserves it this year?

I have no idea. What do you think?

Here's an article focusing on possible winners. I always thought the selection process was more objective.

I wouldn't mind seeing Don Delillo win; his books are always entertaining, in my opinion.

That's NYT, buddy. They don't let us lowly web denizens read their fancy rag.

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer him or Philip Roth to Updike.

The Führer of the Swedish Academy claimed just recently that "The US is too isolated, too insular. They don't translate enough and don't really participate in the big dialogue of literature", so don't get your hopes up on an American laureate.

The answer should always be Haruki Murakami.

Apparently Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio did. I guess I'll have to check up on him.

Oh great, it's some French dude no-one's heard of and probably hasn't had any of his shit translated, now I'll have to learn French and hunt down some pirated books of his, that's just great.

Okay, after doing a bit of research, I've discovered that some of his stuff has been published in English, but I think I'll go ahead and learn French anyway, it might be pretty fun.

Don't change these.
