I'm a 21 year old Male heterosexual Brit.
I've Purchased Twilight hearing it was popular in the states.
Now it's too late I've read it's aimed at 14 year old girls.
Have I made a huge mistake?

return it now. Hurry. If you really want to read it, go to a Library.

OP here. I gave it away to a 12 year old girl.

It's not a bad book persay. Just really overhyped in many respects. Read it without the hype and you might like parts of it.

I fucking hate that book. The concept that such bad quality writing could be published, never mind become so damn popular, makes me rage in ways I've never raged before.

I fucking hate Twilight, why do women have such shit taste?

Name: Anonymous 2008-10-13 21:01

i don't hate this book, i loath it. it has bad structure. hardly even a book publishers would pass.

i know a dew people that are so over heels with this book they wont talk to you unless you say your Edward.

i even read in the paper that one couple got a divorce over it be he was not like Edward.

>this book is not what any age of persons should read, its despicable, an udder disgrace. its like the drama loving to young ex-girlfriend, a choice that leaves you with wanting to kill yourself for doing, and everyone looking down on you saying you should have thought that through.

Are you completely fucking crazy? If he goes to a library then he might be seen in public, reading Twilight. Talk about humiliation.

Anyway yes OP, you have unwittingly purchased a book that is pitched at that particular section of the 'young adult' market that goes in for vampire romance. That shame will always be with you. But now that you've got it, you might as well read it. I know that I would, in your position. Morbid curiosity is a strong motivator.

Does it feature any 14 year old girls?

I actually enjoyed this book, it's not a great (or even merely good) piece of writing but the story is fun if you enjoy mary-sue fiction.

And who the fuck enjoys fiction that uses poor character design as a plot device?
