Why the fuck are all teen girls obsessed with this shit now?

Normally I wouldn't be complaining, because at least the girls are reading now, but holy shit, have you actually looked at some of this?

It's like bad fan-fiction compiled together in the most uncoordinated way imaginable, tied up with some horny teen-girl erotica.

Please explain the appeal of this to such a vast number of people/share experiences with fans of this book/book series, /book/.  I'm genuinely intrigued.

I applaud you for putting Mieville, Kafka, Verne, Pratchett and Rowling in the same bunch. Finally, somebody has done this. All popular, all mediocre, and for all the same reasons.
