Short stories

Let's post about some good short stories, preferably the kind that's readable online for free.
The two I've read recently:

The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yellow_Wallpaper
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1952
About a woman suffering from postpartum depression, who goes mad from being confined in a room by her physician husband.
Even though it's usually described as "feminist literature" it's  surprisingly entertaining, and a very short read.

The Rats in the Walls, by H.P. Lovecraft.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rats_in_the_Walls
http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/theratsinthewalls.htm
Like most of Lovecraft's work it's about a middle-aged, upper-class, racist, intellectual looking into his ancestry and going mad in the process.
If you can stand Lovecraft's style (which takes a bit of getting used to) and don't mind a bit of pulp horror, I can very much suggest this story and all his other work.

WTF's with the broken prose? The whole thing reads as if a 12 year old wrote it. I might be missing the point, I guess.

There's a big name attached to it, so you better learn to like it or everybody will call you stupid.

Don't change these.
