Things to shut your brain off to

Well the usual thread would be named which books would make a good anime, but thats not what I mean exactly.
An example thats frequently used is Ender`s game, a book I picked up and read without really meaning to(srsly, I already read the spoilers and everything). Basically stuff with a lot of niche-wish-fulfillment and enough of a car wreck as to not make you want to look away. Stuff that reads like a comic book really, without needing any commitment from the reader.

Most popular fiction like Potter or Pratchet probably works, but whats your poison?

Contemporary fantasy or urban fantasy, just shut your brain down and read, if you dont understand something, dont worry, there'll be some explosions or shit soon

A lot of D&D novels are like that, especially when you have a prior understanding of the system.

I have a similar experience with Neil Gaiman's stuff, but not because they're pulpy so much as his writing style flows very well.

I bet the same goes for other series based on games (Descent, Battletech, Wing Commander come to mind). Haven't read any of those for a while. Star Wars books too.

Don't change these.
