Never listen to professional critics ever, about anything, ever. They'll rate it from the view of a professional critic, not from the view of a reader/player/viewer, and probably though in their own bullshit genre preferences.

Well I just hate googling a review of a book and reading good things, then when I read the book it turns out it was likely either a 12 year old or a middle aged mother that wrote the review and the book has no literary value whatsoever.

I really like http://www.inchoatus.com/, but the fuckers haven't updated since June 3, 2007. They have very good reviews, in which they discuss the impact of the book on the genre and even compare various other reviews of said book.
But like I said, nothing new suince June 3rd 2007.
