Sci fi FTW

I'm looking for a Science Fiction book I saw at my college about 3 years ago (maybe four?).  It was based in the future, 60 000, or maybe 60 000 000 years.  People are waking up in giant bubbles, not knowing what's going on.  There's only a few thousand people left, and they're trying to figure out why nobody knows what is going on.

Any info, guys?
