as someone who just finished The Eye of the World last night, this makes me very, very sad.

I finished the series a few weeks ago; if you're not keen on a long and sometimes arduous journey through the rest of the books, you could probably just pretend #3 is the end and be reasonably satisfied. I think he intended that in the first place anyway, but felt he had more story to tell when he got there.

A good piece of advice: stop.
Each book gets progressively worse, and really begins to go downhill by book 5. Beyond that it's pure craptastic, and only masochists like it.
You've read the best part. Now go and read something else instead.

>15 To be fair, 11 was fairly decent, he picked up the pace. You could read 1-4, then goto 10-11 without missing the middle bits, though... just some pointless war amongst the Ai'el.

I could never get into his books at all, but I admire anybody who's that prolific.

His fans brought Dragonmount to its knees (wordpress installation) checking his blog for confirmation.

Whatever you might think of his books, he opened a lot of doors for new writers and fans alike.

He revitalised fantasy, bringing it out from the awful slump it had fallen into. RIP.

Everyone always knew he would die before he finished the series. I like seeing all the fans BAWWWWWWW anyway.

I'm glad I dropped the wheel of time series only six books in, then. I don't understand why he made the story so long- his writing is surprisingly good, but a lot of it wasn't necessary.
Hey, number 11 anonymous, I really dislike you, I really hate you Mister 21. I am guessing the longest book you read was a retarded little graphic novel flip book. I also dislike those that criticize his style of writing. Also, what the hell is with you people and beards? Beards didn't do anything to you. People that do not enjoy good literature should just go curl up with there Harry Potter and cut themselves. James Rigney did a great thing for literature and if you don't like it just f%@k off, disrespecting those that did more for the world in one lifetime than you could in ten can just find a place to slowly rot. Sorry to those I offend.

Fantasy books about dragons aren't much of a step up from "retarded little graphic novel flip books". I bet you wish they had more pictures, of dragons or buxom elves or something.
And beards are shit.

What the hell is wrong with dragons? Ice and Fire has dragons. I don't care what it's about as long as it's written well. Eragon is a piece of shit, but it's not the dragon's fault.

How can anybody stand having a beard anyway? After a few days of not shaving I'm scratching my face constantly as if I had fleas or something.
>>28
If you're use to being shaven then the initial period of beard growth will itch. Like anything, it's temporary.
And, food in your beard is only disgusting since you're some sort of slobmonster to begin with. If you're neat and clean, your beard will be neat and clean. DUH.

There are no actual dragons in The Wheel of Time series, but merely the name given to the central character for various reasons. There are no elves, also. Please read up on a subject before commenting on it guys.
