The Silmarillion or the Lord of the Rings trilogy?

lord of the rings

The Silmarillion was Christopher Tolkeins fan to buy a villa in Spain. The greedy son keeps finding 'lost manuscripts' and getting them published. Talentless whore.

Regardless of who whored Tolkien's creation, I found "The Silmarillion" to be very good, albeit dry and more of a documentary than a true tale.  Those who love the Middle Earth should find "The Silmarillion" to be required reading.

I just hate how all the lord of the rings boooks are written, I geuss its just persoanl and I read none the less but they bothered me so much while doing so. To much unecesary detail that lacked any importance, places just read like a shoppping list. I didnt read Silmarillion though, its not a series that took my interest much.

Tolkien's works are interesting to linguists or people who study epics.

If you're neither, and you like LotR, something is wrong with you.

"Mmmm" is fuckin' right!  Tolkien's random lore is delicious.  I loved the great fortresses, the Lamps Illuin and Ormal which lit Arda, the trees who came after them which supplied the light, the Elves in the starlit darkness of the early world, the betrayals, and all the rest.

silmarillion was too much like reading the bible.

The Lord of the Rings is the most fun to read. Once you read that, if you fall in love with the world, try Silmarillion. I like reading it in bits and pieces instead of straight through, though.

Anyone who likes The Silmarillion will enjoy Nasmiths' depictions.  Here's his one of the great Lamp of Illuin:

And this one of the Ships of the Teleri, which also shows the starlit Arda:

Well, fuck you anyway, asseating shitgobbler!  Nasmith and Tolkien have more talent in their discarded turds than you manage to emit using your entire body and mind, shit included ... and that's a lot of shit, since you're fucking full of it!
