I just finished watching The Last Mimzy for the second time because it was on paper view and it got me wondering if /b/ new any good books that featured ideas and concepts like the ones in the movie.
The future human civilization had me thinking of The Chrysalids (Re-Birth in the US) by John Wyndham. And the kids becoming super smart reminded me of Lyra from His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. So basically anything to do with modern day human evolution or telekinetic powers or having the universe talk to you or whatever kind of Akira bullshit related books you know of.
