Joe Meno

Has anyone else read his stuff? He's one of my favorite writers. I read an interview with him and he said that he listens to the same few bands while he's writing and his book comes out sounding like the music. I recommend The Boy Detective Fails and Hairstyles of the Damnned.

I've read Hairstyles and How The Hula Girl Sings. Both were extremely well written, Hairstyles of the Damned is probably my favorite novel, though I'm no longer it's target audience, but I don't think I've read anything else yet that's had as big an impact on me.

Good stuff. I'm surprised someone else knows who he is.
