The Picture of Dorian Gray

So I recently read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde... what the fuck was with the redundant portion of the book dedicated to naming off random art/sculptures/decorations/etc?!  That was really annoying, but I still read it.

I read the book but I have no idea what you're talking about.

It's in chapter 11.  Just one great big section describing the different things Dorian Gray set himself out to study.  It describes instruments, perfumes, jewelery, some furniture (if I remember correctly), and it just goes on and on and on, never stopping to tie this into the plot... just one great big repetitive portion of the book.

I don't remember that either.

So I guess that's a good thing.  In a year or two you'll think the book to be flawless.

That was sort of a style of that era of English lit. I think it was some reflection of his character or some shit. They were materialistic as hell about stupid crap like that back then.

It may have held more context previously, or we're all just missing out on a huge theme of the book lol (most likely).

Don't change these.
