I thought the old man and the sea was an adventrous yet sadening tale of a man who tried his hardest to catch a huge fish. He succedded but never had the chance to actually eat the fish, because sharks were a bit hungry....

Oh really? I thought it was a story about humanity and pride.  I guess it was about catching fish after all.

then you should, it's not all that long and not very difficult to get through.  it's also considered a masterpiece by some and parodied/referenced by many

Honestly, the book was terribly written. Fuck. I've never seen more five-word sentences full of five-letter words in my life. And he didn't even try to vary it. Jeez, Hemingway. Lern2write.

It was boring. Sure, there was some pleasure in it, but it was TOO LONG. The only good thing was that it wasn't that long.

The only real reason to read it is so that you can say you have, and not lie.

Better to lie and read wikipedia instead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Old_Man_and_the_Sea

Don't change these.
