I have to read Kate Chopin's 1800's feminist book, The Awakening for my AP English class this summer. Anyone know where I can download it, etc?

Also, anyone read it and have thoughts/comments?

2nd result. my advice? be patient with the plot, and you'll be rewarded. let yourself get bored too soon and you'll miss out on an amazing story. nj on AP English. one of the few reasons to stay in highschool.

worst book ever. had to read it in high school. our teacher was the only one in the grade who assigned it. never have i wanted to punch a teacher in the face so much. there is no amazing story here. it's the most pretentious feminist bullshit of all time. good luck finishing it.

you do realize it was written 100 years ago, before women had basic constitutional rights?

you were unable to enjoy it because you hate women, and fear them. that's tough for you, that you're unable to enjoy one of the greatest books in english literature because of your insecurities.

OP here, I think feminism is pretty dumb. Like, I'm not sexist or anything, though I make a few women jokes (in jest), but that whole 'I am woman, hear me roar' shit is dumb.

So, depending on how you look at women/feminism the book will be good/bad? That's what I got from this thread.

Don't change these.
