I'd like to start reading some Star Wars. What's good? Where should I begin? I checked out Wikipedia but there's so much of it.

The Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn is pretty good, especially if you're a fan of Mara Jade.
Heir to the Empire
Dark Force Rising
The Last Command

I recommend you start with the important ones: Shadows of the Empire,, the Thrawn Trilogy, the Jedi Search trilogy. There are other very important ones but those will provide you with a VERY basic knowledge of the early ABY years. You should probably read them in chronological order (in-universe chronological order, that is). I don't know where a list of Star Wars comics and novels in chronological order can be found or I'd link. Sorry.
All Depends on where you want to start in the universe. If you're wanting rise of the empire era (phantom, attack of the clones, revenge of the sith) star with the Jude Watson children's books(which are actually better than some of the adult books), then move on to the Cloak of Deception. Wookieepedia should have booklists for ya. Good luck and welcome to being a Star Wars Nerd.
