Bridge to Terabithia

I just watched Bridge to Terabithia and i have to say, as a movie, it sucked ass. I hate endings that make me burst into tears. Which i did, because i was really high and when im high, EVERYTHING is more emotional for me. but anyway, i cried and cried for the last 30 minutes of the movie. Is the book as depressing as the movie?

I ate the Bridge alive, thats why the movie sucked so much ass.

I read Bridge to Terabithia a long time ago in grade school. I enjoyed it as a book; the point where the girl dies is still sad, but you're less likely to feel sad. Probably because the girl's friend starts feeling a lot of other things at that point, and if you get into it, you'll go through all those with him.
