Howl's moving castle

I was thinking of watching the movie but I heard it didn't do the book justice. How's the book. Should I read it first and watch the movie then?

I thought the book was entertaining.

The movie wasn't as good as some of Miyazakis other stuff. More for kids. I didn't particularly like it, but it had some really nice artwork at times.

I never read the book.

And the majority of the rest of his movies aren't for kids?

If I was a kid when I saw Spirited Away, I would have been shitting my pants in terror. Not that I disagree or anything.

As to the topic, Diana Wynne Jones is an excellent author for the young, enough so that I enjoyed reading most of her books as an adult. Howl's Moving Castle is just one of her novels worth spending some time with.

For kids? Never said they weren't. The movie of this book, however, has a story and dialogue more fit for a child's mind than an adults. My point? An adult can easily enjoy Spirited Away in every way. This movie, though? I thought it looked nice, but there were plenty of times where I just had to let the lame parts slide past. There's your difference!

This much is pretty obvious, by the way.

Don't change these.
