Updated "Sleepy Hollow" Idea

Name: Jeebers 2007-02-04 11:09

I love The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, but I actually read somehwere that in under five years, Sleepy Hollow will be technically a New York City Suburb.  First of all, thanks a lot urbanization and NYC.  Way to ruin early american gothic short stories.

Anyway, I had an idea of recreating(like the Romeo and Juliet in the late nineties) Sleepy Hollow in the city.  With cars, and what not.  Like... the legendary bridge could now be a tunnel.

I'm going to really try to make it not suck, and I assume Sleepy Hollow is in public domain by now.  What do you guys think of it?

That's actually a really cool idea.

New York City (at least certain parts of it) is pretty scary at night.

Don't forget about Central Park, too.

Unfortunately for everyone not familiar with the original Sleepy Hollow, your Headless Horseman is going to provoke reactions like OMG GHOST RIDER!!

a cool concept is one thing, but to write it is another.  Even if you have a really good concept, it's hard to pull it off well in the writing/dailogue.  Like the new star wars trilogy, it's as if lucas said I want this this and this to happen because it'd be kewl but then when he wrote the dailogue...well...he couldn't really.

That wouldn't be a factor for me.  Writing is my bag, and I've been told that I could become pro.  Thanks for the tips, but I'm pretty confident in that realm.
