I recently read 'The Immoralist' On the back of this statement I ask what i should read next. I'm a fan of authors like Camus,Sartre and Bukowski. I also enjoyed 'On the Road' by Kerouac and 'junky' by Burroughs but 'Naked Lunch' really turned me off him. I'm currently reading Henry Miller but after that my knowledge of writers sort of ends. Throw some names at me /book/!

Well, I'll suggest some good Russian authors and titles.

Nabokov (Lolita, Pale Fire) - Lolita you probably know about, Pale Fire is wierd but good
Pelevin (Homo Zapiens) - Highly amusing, very wierd, interesting message
Bulgakov (Master and Margarita) - Just read this, it's amazing.
Dostoevsky (House of the Dead, Notes from the Underground, The Demons) - some of these are a little dry and wordy at points compared to the stuff you listed, but if you get through them you'll like them

I'd have to say that my favorite Russian author is Viktor Scjornevskigorkyvich. He wrote "Towers of the Kremlin," a great book that discussed the possibility that Rasputin was assassinated by British Intelligence.

I really like Miller, and if you like him I think you might also like Louis Ferdinand Celine. Their books are kind of similar plot-wise, but they have entirely different outlooks. I would also suggest Nabokov, and "Hell" by Henri Barbusse is good too (but not really related to any of the other books).

i would re-recommend Journey to the End of the Night by Celine.

also A Fan's Notes by Frederick Exley -- i don't think enough people have read this.  it's like bukowski but without the drinking.

Don't change these.
