House of Leaves

I plan on buying this soon if I can find a cheap version.

I hear there are many different versions available, so which is the best one, and why?

The e-book, since it's, well, free.

Since there isn't an e-book that is readily available and I'm way to lazy to scan my copy just buy the newest version out there. The full colour really enhances the experience.

In what way? There isn't a single way I can think to compare them if that helps.

How is it different from the other versions? Is it just the coloring of the words "House" and "Minotaur" or whatever?

Granted I haven't read the old versions, but you have to keep in mind that in some cases the versions you're thinking of don't even exist. The newest one is full colour (meaning house is in blue, sections related to the minotaur are in red and there is one purple word), but I seriously doubt you will have much luck finding previously published copies anyway so that is what you're 'stuck' with... even though it is a good thing.

Also technically the newest version has an extended index after the book, including many letters from Johnnies mother and some full colour pictures.
