I need to wrap a thick spine book in clear plastic, hoefully without using tape or glue, and simple guide on how to go about it? Thanks.

1. Go to a craft store like Michaels or whatever.  Wade through all the feminine bullshit and estrogen to the basket wrapping section (yes, basket wrapping is consider a craft by these twits).  There you will find rolls of shrink wrap plastic.  Buy a roll.

2. Go to a kitchen supply store.  Buy one of those hot wire plastic bag sealing things.

3. Wrap book in plastic.  Seal seams with hot wire sealer.  Use hair dryer or heat gun to shrink plastic.

4. ???

5. Profit.

Nope.  A vacuum sealer might work, but I'm talking about a handheld device that sumiltaneously seals and cuts plastic bags.  These are made by a bunch of manufacturers.  Google "POLYBONDER" for one example.  Most run on 2 AA batteries.  Try to get one that plugs into the wall.

This would end up with seams, so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.

But you might try out those individual sheets they sell for cheap-as-shit lamination. It's just these individual pieces of clear plastic with adhesive on the back that you stick to whatever the hell you want.

You could probably take a couple of those and seal up that book nicely.

Don't change these.
