Fixed.

No, I'd say China.  The media is way out of controll here, and contrary to what young and ignorant people think, (ie: Anon up there) There is much more freedom in America.  Perhaps too much.

The proles are allowed a great deal of freedom because basically they don't matter. Sensationalist media panders to the interests of those who don't matter because they don't matter.

LOOK AT ME I'M TEH SMART.

Actually j/k, I know.

China is being used as propaganda to demonstrate what you should be thankful to not have, not to be thankful for what you have.

This creates an easy tool of cognitive dissonance for us all to employ when our basic constitutional rights erode. When that happens we will say "at least we have free speech." Yes, at least we can say we want no cheese and a size 13, unlike in China.

when the dude at the end gets shot and sais he loves big brother, is that newspeak for saying he finally hates big brother? I DONT KNOW WTF GUYS.

China is simplifying their language so that there are less words--kind of like newspeak, with "good" and "ungood" instead of bad--things like that.
Also, the kids over there are really freaky.  Kind of like junior spies.
And their devotion to Mao is creepy too, it reminded me of Big Brother.
When I visited there, I was constantly reminded of 1984.  It freaked the hell out of me.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Did you read the goddamn book?

Newspeak was a system designed to eliminate all knowledge and applications of concepts that were considered dangerous to the status quo. People had no idea what Freedom was, because they never knew the concept and could not even formulate into words even if they had any inkling of the original ideal. "Simplifying" the language was not Newspeak's goal: It was to eliminate all potentially dangerous words by creating new words and concepts that were non-threatening. Something wasn't "Bad", as the concept of "bad" was against what the government wanted its citizens to know.. "bad" became "ungood", a derivative of a positive word that can express the same concept in a way that is understood but without the negative emotional connotations that come with it.

Don't change these.
