Looking for a book. Help me out?

Hello, /fict/. It's been awhile. I used to write stories for /d/ here, but this evening, I'm looking for a book from my late childhood that I read in the mid-nineties. I cannot remember the name, but I believe it includes 'stardust' or 'starlight'. The plot involved a boy with chronic nightmares who met a girl with the same problem. The secret was that they were telepathic, along with this small child they met, because a UFO landed near a motel at which all three had stayed when they were little and the child was a baby, and given them telepathic powers. Throughout the book they are chased by secret agents looking to capture and research them.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
