One Day in the life of Ivan Denisovich -Aleksander Solzhenitsyn.
If u havent read it you should. It is only 174 pages long depending on the copy you get hold of, and is amzingly inspiring. It will only take you an afternoon/day to read so you wont lose much if you dont like it. However if you do you will gain as much as i did from this master piece and maybe more. The triumph of the spirit, the perspective you chose to have and much more.

Alex would kill both of them while listening to classical music, then perform the ol' in-out, in-out on their corpses.

Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce = Best book ever

You're doing it wrong.

>>Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce = most incoherently allusive book ever

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-30 16:43

More incoherent than A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man?  Impossible.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-01 3:24

Portrait was actually pretty good. The stream-of-consciousness thing wasn't TOO overdone, and remained largely credible throughout the book itself.

Finnegan's Wake reads more like automatic writing than an attempt at writing a novel.
