Catch-22

I borrowed this book from the library because I saw that it was one of the most highly-rated books of all time but this shit sucks. It's just small pieces of each soldier's history, random stories popping in and out, and everyone calling each other crazy. I read that it's supposed to be hilarious. Well, it's not funny at all. Small little details about each soldier's life isn't very funny and the story is going no where. The entire backdrop is that there's a war.. but it never goes any futher. There's no progression.

ha, sorry guys but i agree >>1 i mean, yes, i totally understood the book and everything, an aquaintance told me to read it and after i told him that i didnt think it was funny, he instantly thought i was some retard that could never apreciate anything beautiful.

The truth is, he was a pretentious loser. I mean, i get how Yossarians logic at the end (the reasons why he goes back) could seem funny to some people, but to me it just wasnt.
I dont see why some people wont laugh at really stupid shit, just because they think it would make them look dumb, I do it all the time, and my brother always looks at me and says "Thats not funny" and I always tell him to shut the fuck up.
