My understanding is that homosexuality was frowed upon unless you'd been fucking said person since they were a boy ("You can carry a bull, if you carried the calf."). Apparently homosexuality and pederastry were both illegal, but it was popular among the upper classes, which is the only thing we read about nowadays. Besides, Plato certainly did consider it a bad thing, so some people certainly disagreed with it.
But hey, it's an interesting topic, so if you can point otherwise, I'm all ears.
