Why should I read the Da Vinci Code

Is it good? I heard it's like reading an novelised version of " National Treasure"

I attempted to read it but Dan Brown couldn't keep me interested past 50 pages....it's an okay story I guess, but Dan Brown isn't a great writer. I'd say that it would be better to watch as a movie, just a poor story for literature

I just downloaded the book, and I must say, I've seen bad fanfiction with better writing.

I'm not sure if the sentence structure and grammatical style is bold and rebellious or just bad writing.  Most English teachers would dock points off every page.
