good new novels

I can't find any new novels that are worth reading.  (I can find plenty of manga though.)  Can someone tell me if there are any.  Bonus if the novels are freely distributable online.

Don't read "Twilight," most overrated book I've ever read.  Bought it after people said good stuff about it and it ended up being some kind of romance book.
