Most hateful books in literature?

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-20 20:45

Google results are yielding the Talmud and the Koran, though I was thinking more along the lines of Mein Kampf; an author who believes in themself and in their hatred, words that are true to the fullest extent of their creator's imagination.

Of course, I haven't read it, so I don't know if it's a good example, but I hope that there is something more hateful out there other than modern day partisan crap.

The Japan That Can Say No

Naked Lunch is pretty hateful, but a good book too.

The Hollow Doll is the most hateful thing I've read recently.

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-25 20:58

Anything written by Andrea Dworkin or Eve Ensler.  Basically, anything written by a feminist.

See, it's those bitches who give feminism a bad name. Give Erica Jong's book Fanny a read. Positive feminism that realises that male bashing is sexism, too.

Anyhoo, back on topic, Seduction Of The Innocent is very hateful and close minded and self righteous. It made me want to hurl it against the wall.

Agreed.

But yeah, Mein Kamph ftl

Christina Hoffman is good too.

Does anyone know if the Army of God has a book-book out, and not just a 20-30 page recruitment pamphlet? I'm sure I saw one before but can't remember the name. If you're wondering they're the anti-abortion nuts who're like the christian answer to Al Qaeda.

Yeah, "Mein Kampf" should be up there on the list.  And it is relatively partisan.  It's extremely nationalistic, and what would be considered "right-wing."

You ever seen "Chick tracks?"  Those little books crazy people pass out to you, that at first you think is a comic book, until you start reading it and realize that it's just some wingnut with no artistic skill writing some crazy shit.

And yet millions of morons just eat that shit up.

God bless America.

I would say that Jack Chick is not totally without skill as an artist.  He draws a lot better than I can.

He's also crazier than a soup sandwich, no question about it.  But he can draw.

Jack Chick is one of the great comedy writers of our time.

Probably not.  I'm not too sure if half their members can even read.

I think it's "Chick TRACTS" and yeah, they are some of the most demented right-wing religious collections of bullshit I've ever read.

Ayn Rand

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-31 11:37

Yes, I read it. Have YOU read it, or are you just a tool of the islamists?

i'm born a muslim fuckwad. i've read the damn thing cover to cover.
now i'm just mainly agnostic. however RS (religious studies) and my various exposure to the bible taught me that most religious text regard people of other religions as heretics and deserve nothing less than eternal pain.
at least the Quran still haven't managed to incite a holocaust. yet.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-31 12:22

>>i'm born a muslim fuckwad.

Nice attitude.

Being Muslim doesn't imply that you've read the Quran. A significant amount of muslims are illiterate (e.g. average ~40% literacy in Muslim countries, and none have 100%), and a large fraction of the literate ones probably don't get around to reading it.

>>however RS (religious studies) and my various exposure to the bible taught me that most religious text regard people of other religions as heretics and deserve nothing less than eternal pain.

Incorrect. Only (parts) of Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism), and fringe cults preach that.

The important difference is that the Jews never really believed it in the first place, the Christians got over it centuries ago, but the muslims are still at it and will be for quite a few generations.

Care to point out a Christian or Jewish suicide bomber? A Sikh mass murderer? A Buddhist or Jain terrorist? It's only you Muslims. Only you.

>>at least the Quran still haven't managed to incite a holocaust.

What an achievement!

>>yet.

Ooh, a threat!

>>Being Muslim doesn't imply that you've read the Quran. A significant amount of muslims are illiterate.

Arabic is my mother tounge. I'm typing in English. are you that fucking stupid? I do not represent this fraction you speak of. and i'm sure lots of christians never bothered to read the Bible cover to cover or Hindus the Ramayana.

>>Incorrect. Only (parts) of Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism), and fringe cults preach that.

which is why i said most, not all. Abrahamic religion is the most populous is it not? more chances of eccentrics coming out carry out attacks on whatever it is that they would want to.

>>The important difference is that the Jews never really believed it in the first place, the Christians got over it centuries ago, but the muslims are still at it and will be for quite a few generations.

the topic is "hateful books in literature". not the hateful interpretations and actions of it's followers. Throughout history, Christians are guilty of massacres, inquisitions. what about the IRA? weren't they accused of terrorism once, why aren't they called "Catholic terrorists". no Jewish suicide bombers, however after the Balfour declaration the Etzel and Lehi branches of the Hagannah carried out attacks on Arab and British targets as a response to Arab attacks on Jewish communities. The Brits labled them a "terrorist group", on par with the PLO which would later appear in history. So no Jewish terrorists? gb2 /history class/. every religion has it eccentrics, and i don't believe it's fair to label them as a representative to their whole belief system.
Only ME? i don't even regard myself a Muslim. Why the graceful flying fountain of fuck would a Muslim be on 4chan? And i know so many Muslims who do not desire to hurt others. Your opinion is just so fucking blinded and biased.

>>Ooh, a threat!
never meant it to be. just pondering the current situation. I know there are Muslims who are prone to fanaticism, and i'm hoping it wouldn't come to THAT.

As someone who has read both, I just want everyone to know that the Bible and the Qur'an are pure hilarity. There's some seriously warped shit in both of them.

Shouldn't be a surprise; they both come from a similar tradition.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-02 14:04

Good thing Jesus came around and said "hey guys lets just love each other and stuff okay?!"

And too bad nobody did that in Islam. And can't either, the quran says Mohammed is the last prophet. So basically now they're stuck with an illiterate paedophile warlord as the ultimate word from Allah. Lol sucks me to be muslim.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-02 18:42

And how many Christians have read the Bible who ARE literate?

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-03 3:29

How is that relevant at all though?
