The third one is the best book ive ever read. Its a perfect veiw of the lonely stuipidity of mob mentality on a global scale. ALSO if i were to obtain a pshicohistrorical chart that predicted 4 chan I could quite probalbly rule all time and apace

Are the sequels worth reading?

The old sequels are worth reading. I don't know about the newer ones.

Nothing by Asimov is worth reading...

I have the whole Foundation and Robot series and liked it at the time I read it. But in retrospect, it's just not worth it (unless you have nerd friends who'll flog you if you don't get Asimov references). Read Eco instead.

avoid the equals like foundation's edge and foundation and earth they just aren't worth the pain nor are they that interesting

"Would you call your granting me seeing privileges perverse?" asked Baley.
Quemot said, "Yes, I think I would.  I should say there was a bit of scatophilia involved."
"Could Delmarre have been killed for political reasons?"
    "What?"
ROBOTS ARE SUPERIOR

I agree that Second Foundation was the best, because it was so paranoia-filled.  I thought Foundation's Edge was fairly good - its just that there's a good 20-year gap between writing the two, and his style changed in that period of time.  Foundation and Earth was decent, and it gave us some idea of what happened to the Spacers.

Prelude to Foundation, now THAT sucked.

I never read more than the trillogy I heard it sucked

I have only read the first book.

that series is the BOMB... now... try the EMPIRE NOVELS and try to find a kind of hard-to-find book called "Foundation and Empire" by Asimov... its kind of a link of the two Worlds

Prelude to Foundation was fun because of the link between Asimov's two main series.

Dawn of Foundation was really great. First time an Asimov book felt like Litterature.

I'd like to read the Empire novels - they've been out-of-print for a while now though.

I still like Foundation a lot more than the following two. F&E was quite good, as was FII, but overall I liked how the pace of the first book was. Something like 30+ years between chapters.

Of the second 'trilogy' I read Foundation's Edge alone.
Never making that mistake again.

the foundation series was good, but i prefer PKD for sci-fi

Don't change these.
