Is The Chrysalids an analogy for human evolution in the future?
You have:
a) The Old People/Labrador peeps - a.k.a. Plebs with jobs/Religious people
b) The Deviations/Fringe people - a.k.a. Most of the people on 4chan.
c) The Sealand telepathy types - a.k.a. The world's elite?
It seems to fit to me:
- The ending where the helicopter telepathy woman kills a load of people with no remorse, as they are unevolved and nothing more than an obsticle... or something...
- The telepathy woman tells Petra she must have children who are good at think-together.
- Other stuff I cannot remember...
So therefore, the purpose of the book is to say "you can be airlifted away from the plebs and taken to properity only if you have the evolution-skillz required".
Thoughts?
