Reading procrastination

Name: Anonymous 2005-07-23 12:28

My eyes are either too tired to read, or I find something more distracting to occupy my time with such as the Internet.  Or I don't remind myself to continue a book.  What are some good ways to motivate yourself?

How old were you when you started reading? I was reading at 3 so I've never really disliked reading.

I have the same problem. Try taking you book slowly or set a specific time aside to read. Alternatively, try just reading nonstop so you finish a lot all at once.

I just read on the train to and from work.  Works for me.

I have not actually finished a book for months. I always start a
book, get past a few pages, and then bookmark it and stop. I think I have a good 10 books lying around in my room bookmarked into a few pages.

I have this same problem, though i usually read 50-100 pages into it and get bored and go do something else.

I rarely finish books, I read books in snatches, going through passage by passage at random while I wait for my War3/DoW automatch to finish or for the CS round to complete. After a while, there's nothing I haven't read in the book and I switch to another.

Buy a cheap PDA (with a backlight obviously) and put books on it. Carry around all the time and read when you can.

Don't change these.
