I have to agree with this person. All other authors are burnt to a cinder when confronting the awesome brilliance that pours out from that man. So it goes.

Meh. Some of Vonnegut's early stuff is very good. "Player Piano" is very good. "Welcome to the Monkey House" is mind-blowing. "Cat's Cradle" was uneven, but it had its moments. "Slaughterhouse Five" is superb. "The Sirens of Titan" is hilarious black humor, from when Vonnegut was on top of his game. How can anyone not love the bloodthirsty Martian War Hymn?
But since 1970 he has sucked, hard. "Breakfast of Champions" is just--meh. It's like he was really depressed and he decided to scream at the typewriter instead of get therapy. Same for "Galapagos." And for "Slapstick" he was just phoning it in--"and so it goes" and "hi ho" are not substitutes for punctuation.

I read most of Vonnegut's books in High School, Slap Stick, Breakfast of champions, Sires of Titan, and Slaughter House Five were my favorites. Most of the other books kind of run together in my head though, since a lot of them share the same themes and ideas.

I never cared so much for Slaughterhouse Five as everyone else does. Player Piano and Mother Night were always my favorites. Sirens of Titan was good too.

Trite. I wonder why anyone falls for such overrated authors. If you're going to pick a popular horror/philosophical/mystery writer, you may as well go with Poe.
