Any fans of Paoslini?
So far I have only heard A Dream of Something and I enjoyed it very much.
Very short and sweet. While many points in the story can be very depressing, I think overall the atmosphere is very refreshing.
The story spans a rather long amount of time in the character's lives. It covers their youth and goes into their late teen years. Although it follows so much, Pasolini keeps it very brief and beautiful. He never spends too much time following much of anything irrelevent.
Pasolini's descriptions of Italy and the people of it are gorgeous. Even when taking place in such dark times, he does a great job keeping his characters at first full of wonderful childish naivety.
Has anyone read any of his books? I really look forward to reading pretty much anything else by him as well as seeing his films. So far I have only watched the elusive Salo.
