Yes. Everything so far has been beyond perfect. I've watched the first episodes at least 10 times each. Not since the heady days of NGE (KLK is better than) and Cowboy Bebop (Will end up better if the rest of the series is as good) has anime had me this excited.
This is the rebirth. The third impact. We are witnessing a paradigm shift. The old standards no longer apply. Welcome to the future, motherfuckers.
Anime is saved, but unfortunately we will never see the end of this series.
KLK is the Jesus of anime.
It will spread the prophecy of God and rekindle faith in all who see it.
It will bring about miracles the likes of which will cause a grown man to throw himself on the ground and prostrate himself out of respect for what he knows is a divine being.
It will evangelize the word of the holy one and create a legacy which our children's children's children will speak of with reverence.
Yet, in all the wonders it shall create, it shall not live a full life.
KLK is destined to be canceled early, as it is destined to bear the weight of our sins. The past few decades of sin brought about by the industry cannot be forgotten without sacrifice, and KLK is the messiah which has been sent down to receive our sin and save us all.
It will be a sorrowful day when we see its majestic vessel hanging, but know that Kill La Kill died for your sins.

Jesus, there are even people shitposting about KlK in the text boards?
It's not the best anime ever so far, and I highly doubt it will turn out to be the GREATEST EVER, but I can say that it's FUN.

It's not the best anime ever so far, and I highly doubt it will turn out to be the "greatest ever",. I will say, however, that Kill La Kill is a very fun show and I think it will continue to be fun.

I'm really not feeling it. I guess Imaishi is doing his usual thing and drawing heavily from old shit. Especially Go Nagai's work. I guess stuff like Devilman is fine, but I've really never been too keen on Nagai's ecchi(really not sure if that's the best word to use here) stuff, which KlK draws heavily from.
I guess it is basically the same issue I have with P&S. Once I get over the nice visuals it starts to feel really shallow and I get tired of the show's references to material I'm not particularly fond of to begin with.
All that said, it isn't all bad. Looks like there's a commentary on rape culture going on, maybe, so that could turn out interesting, and I can't deny that it looks nice. Probably ought to revisit some Nagai stuff, too, maybe. I doubt it will change my opinion on stuff like KlK, but I do feel like I'm too hard on Nagai. Maybe I get too caught up on the presentation and am not taking Nagai's stuff seriously enough, or maybe I'm right and it is just shallow and indulgent.
No idea why I'm writing this much. No one is going to care or read all this shit. My issues with the show are probably my problems and not the show's, anyway.

It's hard to create something original.
When you are trying to base it on a view of enjoyment you're always going to have to reference the same stats until you can reach a new definition of target.
Which means at the start it will be exciting, intruguing and there will be plenty of content to enjoy. Though, whilst in the middle (or maybe you could call this a transit phase) you will find the same material referenced over and over in different ways to create the transition and reach the climax of the show (end of the season)
The hype about newly realeased manga or specific episodes where new characters/abilities are introduced makes these stages easily identifiable.
I don't think your issues with the shows are personal I think it's more relatable to the fear of stepping too far outside the boundary and doing something that will turn people off.
If you had a million dollar business would you give it all away for an idea you thought could possibly mean something or would you stay the path that's been proven to work through history over countless years.
Most would choose the latter.

Agreed, a show this fun is exactly what we needed.

I hope you dropped it.
As for the rest of you, now that it's become clear this show is SnK-tier normalbait garbage, do you realize how awful your taste is?
Kill la Kill is so great it appeals to everyone of all ages genders races sexual orientations lifestyles and species. It is finally the anime that brought together /a/, /v/ and /pol/, and reddit, and tumblr, and facebook and yahoo and people in real life. It even spawned new memes like that funny Australian guy who acted like George bush.

All shit, just like the show, who failed to impress.
Aimed high to be a TTGL, ended up poorly.

Well, at least the final episode finally got this series to have some great animation. Underwhelming finale in every other way though.

I started out with some hope for the series, enough to watch it at least a while, but jesus it went to shit fast, my favorite episode of the 11 or so I watched was 4 and that was all filler. That and the stupid amount of fanservice, that just isn't necessary even with a perverted american audience who thinks that makes it japanese. And it definitely tried to be TTGL, it did practically the same thing but failed utterly. And don't even get me started on the fanbase
