Animated cars are a blessing.

I can't really blame them for not being able to do all the time since it's really a hassle doing so.

So I came to look who Mariko Takahashi was since raito-kun mentioned her.

Is ANN mixing something up here?

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=38090

There are works listed for some other shows. And it's also on the same year.

2006
>Kanon (TV 2/2006) : Key Animation (ep 4)
>(The) Familiar of Zero (TV) : In-Between Check (eps 4, 10), Key Animation (SSC; eps 4, 10)

2007
>Ayakashi (TV) : 2nd Key Animation (eps 1-3, 11), In-Between Animation (ep 12), Key Animation (eps 4, 7, 9-10)
>Lucky Star (TV) : Assistant Animation Director (ep 9), Key Animation (op; 4 episodes)

You have a keen eye, it could be there is another person with that name who got mixed - these things happen.

Japanese names often end up as homonyms in English, as despite having different kanjis, they will be read the same way and in English end up being spelt the same.

Looks like I found your culprit

高橋 真梨子
Is the KyoAni animator
高橋 真理子
Is the other one that's on Ayakashi and ZnS

A single kanji difference, yet pronounced the same.

Is ANN mixing something up here?
Yes. This would not happen if ANN allows user to add the staff list using Kanjis.

高橋真梨子 = KyoAni's Mariko Takahashi
高橋真理子 = Another Mariko Takahashi

Just one kanji makes a difference huh.

I should start learning to read.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 8:26

seems like Mariko Takahashi is a common name. There's even a singer who has the same name.

>It's a big huge ANNCast with the team from legendary anime studio Production I.G! They're here to talk about their Kickstarter-funded anime, Kick-Heart, but of course we can't help but grill them about everything else!

>We're joined by Vice President of Production I.G. USA Maki Terashima-Furuta, Kick-Heart producer Justin Leach, color coordinator Eunyoung Choi and background artist Aymeric Kevin.

It would still happen when there are multiple people whose names are written using the same kanji. AniDB handles this a lot better than ANN because they allow creators with identical names.

Too lazy to listen to the podcast.
Anything interesting in it?

You can actually. But the Kanji has to be related to an English name. The KyoAni one has a related entry in the database, but someone must have thought the other one was just a typo, since it doesn't appear in the DB. These things can happen in Japanese too and so the data entry person must have just entered it under the same name in English.

If I enter both names in Kanji, this is what it shows me: http://puu.sh/1f6LR

Masashi Kudo did the Gundam characters, does anyone know who did the rest?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 10:04

I hope we get a new KyoAni CM soon. I'd like to see more.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 10:16

They're probably busy with that Chuunibyou web series.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 10:20

Why are they making those CMs though?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 10:31

>>542

To.... showoff?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 10:38

>>542
The first 2 CMs were used in their animation books.
http://kyotoanimation.shop-pro.jp/?pid=164996
http://kyotoanimation.shop-pro.jp/?pid=2582115

The third CM(Shoko Ikeda's one) and the cat-bus one were to advertised their shop.
The 4th CM(Ishidate+Ueno) for probably their school.
And obviously, Kara no Kyoukai CM was to advertised the novel.

Don't know about the rest.

I mean Kyoukai no Kanata.

That was Shoko Ikeda's? This one?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZyh5T6P-V4

Well in anycase. Some of their CMs are just for the sole purpose of showcasing their in house talent. Or rather... Drawing new talent in.

The first one was a really a huge shift from their usual style. It's really welcoming.

Would love to see an anime in that style.

Looking back at the sakugawiki list

Was K-ON s1 really a milestone for their animation?

Wasn't it already there? I mean if I were to consider the real milestone for them is Lucky Star. I think that's where all K-ON's substance came from.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 12:16

KyoAni should release a genga book for their CMs someday.

What are you two talking about?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-15 14:55

I didn't talk about this because before with my 3x3x3 incident, but now with my 4x4x4 it made me able to smoothly turn my previous cube that took great effort to turn.
