Hand drawn cars pls.

>>497
How many animators can draw cars well these days?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:15

Sorry guys , i know initial d is 3d
but still , it's awesome

And yeah , animate cars 2d is very hard , very very hard!

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:16

>>498
Aside from the veterans, I'm not too sure. Not even KyoAni let their animators draw cars.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:20

Aside from mecha, hand-drawn mechanical animation is pretty much dead these days isn't it? It's a bit sad, but I guess animation technology has always been about reducing the workload of the animator.

>>501
Well there is some 2d technical limitations to do it so well.
It can be very complicated to have a consistent animation on cars in 2d .

Spacecraft are also dying ...
Now those days mostly are 2d.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:32

>> And yeah , animate cars 2d is very hard , very very hard! <<

I disagree on this.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:34

>>503
Why do you say so?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:34

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:34

One of my friends was fired because he couldn't handle the mecha scenes he was given. most of the young animators have difficulties with 2D mecha animation

Interesting, looks like KyoAni's employees don't have overly long hours at work. I guess working conditions there are better than the typical anime studio.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:45

>>506
Are you, by any chance, an animator?

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:45

>>506
Not bringing Arasan meme here again please...

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:45

I hope she gets to direct something with a fantasy setting someday.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 17:57

>>506
Where do you work (what studio ?) ? Sunrise ? Bones ? etc

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:00

>>506
Are you an animator from Japan?
or is that you Bahi

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:03

>>513
Bahi

It's not Bahi if there's no yoyo

I can confirm that K-On director Naoko Yamada not only dresses kind of like Yui, she also spells in English like her too :)

So moe

fuck

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:36

Takafumi Hori is great at animating cars.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:40

>>517
Found a video of his work, you're right about that. I like it.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:55

>>518
This is just awesome!

Maybe not many animators like him left nowadays
So most of studios use 3d instead wich is kinda sad.

Name: Anonymous 2012-10-14 18:58

>>503
Well animate cars / vehicles in 2d in a realistic way is fucking hard.

After if it's a funny/unrealistic way ,it's still do-able but realistic needs skills
