Code Geass after Death Note (because you want another Kira)
and Outlaw Star and Baccano after Cowboy Bebop
Well it's up for debate on whether what I'd consider good, is to you as well but here's a few I've watched at least a few episodes of, and liked.
Some may catch some interest ^__^
Lucky Star
Hayore Nyarko san
Fruits basket
Chobits
Bleach (Although it got really boring for me after the First few chapters of the storyline -__-
Rouroni Kenshin
Shichi Henge (Wallflower)
Ouran High school host club (Everyone seems to like this but to me it was bleh alright.

Who would recommend lucky star to someone who's "new to anime"?!
And yes, Boku no Pico! You'll appreciate it!

'M Not that person but I don't understand why recommending anime that makes homages to other works to be so wrong to a newbie? If anything it might spark an interest in what's being parodied and if so further the enjoyment of both works. It's a win-win situation really.

Ouran High School Host Club
Death Note
Soul Eater
Naruto would probably be good if you're new to the deal
Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji
Darker than Black
D. Grayman
Full Metal Alchemist
I'd also like to recommend most other popular anime if you dont know things like honorifics or the culture fairly well, they have a lot of things that are just understood to mean certain things, so you may want to find out what those are before starting out on a particularly complex series.
Sorry for bein' such a weirdo, I just felt the need for an explanation.
